“Industrious” — Nicholas Alexander Hayes

“Give a man a kidney, and he’ll make a pie.” The adage rings in the man’s head as he rubs his beard with his hand sheathed in a blue rubber glove above the drugged frat boy in a bathtub full of ice. “Give a man a kidney and he’ll make a pie,” the man thinks as he packs up his cooler. As the hotel room door closes he remembers the rest, “But teach him to harvest organs, and he’ll eat for life.”
